The NYSESLAT is a mandated test for ELL students in NY State. It consists of the assessment of student’s achievement in four modalities; Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. Its results determine programming decisions for the next academic year as well as continuance or exiting the ENL/Bilingual program.
Attendance to all 4 parts of the test is imperative.
Any missing Subtest invalidates the entire test.
The NYSESLAT test schedule is as follows:
|April 12, 2016 – May 13, 2016|
|DAY 1 L/R/W (In Class)
|May 2, 2016|
|Day 2 L/R/W (In Class)
|May 3, 2016|
|Day 3 L/R/W (In Class)||May 4. 2016
May 5 – 9, 2016
We will practice for the test during ENL class sessions before the State exam.
Parents/guardians may help their children by making sure they have a good night’s rest, eat a good breakfast in the morning, and encourage them to do their best.
Please support this instructional testing initiative and keep in mind the importance of your child’s attendance during the NYSESLAT administration.
