Yale University hosts the oldest student-run model government conference in the Ivy League. For over twenty years, Yale Model Congress has held conferences that provide high school students with the opportunity to assume the responsibilities of our elected representatives and to tackle issues that face our nation. Over the course of four days, more than 600 students visit Yale’es campus to participate in Congressional committees, focusing on topics that range from national security to the environment. Last year, six of our seniors participated in the conference. We intend to offer more of these opportunities to our students to engage in civi education, while developing transferrable skills. Next year’s conference will be held from November 30 to December 3, 2017.
