Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

We are pleased to inform you that the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Application is now available for review beginning October 15th, with the online application going live November 1st. Students may visit www.jackierobinson.org to learn more about the organization that The New York Times described as providing “what might be the educational effort in the country.” Each new JRF Scholar receives $24,000 over four years to attend a four-year accredited college or university. In addition to cash grants, JRF Scholars participate in our extensive, four-year program that includes: mentoring, leadership development, practical skill-building, internship and job counseling and placement, and a myriad networking opportunities. Over 1,400 JRF Scholars have been selected since the first awards were made in 1973.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a graduating, minority high school senior
  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States
  • Show leadership potential
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service
  • Present evidence of financial need
  • Be a United States citizen
  • A minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math   and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 22
  • Not possess a degree from a 2 or 4-year college when applying for the scholarship

Coca-Cola Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholarship program is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.
With the 26th class in 2014, the Foundation has provided over 5,400 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $54 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.
Applicants must be: Current high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States (or select DoD schools); U.S. Citizens; U.S. Nationals; U.S. Permanent Residents; Refugees; Asylees; Cuban-Haitian Entrants; or Humanitarian Parolees; Anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application; Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution; and Carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of their junior year of high school.

Video Challenge PageToyota Teen Video Challenge

Award: $15,000
Deadline: March 13, 2014

Description: Toyota Teen Driver is awarding a $15,000 Grand Prize to a high school student who submits a short video about safe teen driving. The two runners-up will receive $10,000 and $7,500 respectively. Plus, the Grand Prize winner will work with a professional film crew to reshoot their video into a TV-ready PSA and the first runner-up will win a behind-the-scenes trip to a television show! Top-notch film skills are not needed and smart phone videos are accepted. This program is open to any high school student who is at least 13 years of age. No minimum GPA.

National Peace Contest

Description: The National Peace Essay Contest is a yearly competition that provides scholarships to high school students. NPEC encourages high school students to explore peacebuilding. Many NPEC winners have gone on to study foreign policy issues in college or have pursued careers in international affairs. Up to 53 winners receive college scholarships and, in 2014, the three national winners will be invited to an Awards Program in Washington, D.C.
